A thought to share from my friend….

” I just finished taking an evening class at Stanford. The
last lecture was on the mind-body connection–the relationship between stress and disease. The speaker (head of psychiatry at Stanford) said, among other things, that one of the best things that a man could do for his health is to be married to a woman whereas for a woman, one of the best things she could do for her health was to nurture her relationships with her girlfriends. At first everyone laughed, but he was serious.

Women connect with each other differently and provide
support systems that help each other to deal with stress and difficult life experiences. Physically this quality “girlfriend time” helps us to create more serotonin–a neurotransmitter that helps combat depression and can create a general feeling of well being. Women share feelings whereas men often form relationships around activities. They rarely sit down with a buddy and talk about how they feel about certain things or how their personal lives are going. Jobs? Yes. Sports? Yes. Cars? Yes. Fishing, hunting, golf? Yes. But their feelings?–rarely. Women do it all of the time. We share from our souls with our sisters, and evidently that is very good for our health. He said that spending time with a friend is just as important to our general health as jogging or working out at a gym. There’s a tendency to think that when we are “exercising” we are doing something good for our bodies, but when we are hanging out with friends, we are wasting our time and should be more productively engaged–not true. In fact, he said that failure to create and maintain quality personal relationships with other humans is as dangerous to our physical health as smoking! So every time you hang out to schmooze with a gal pal, just pat yourself on the back and congratulate yourself for doing something good for your health! We are indeed very very lucky. So let’s toast to our friendship with our girlfriends. Evidently it’s very good for our health.”

Please read and enjoy the contents:
May K. Yue: Author Tao of Youth

What are orbs

Orbs are pale and circular anomalies, sample right, that have been linked with the paranormal.

Orbs can be of any colour, but are typically off white, can be any shape, but are usually circular. They can appear crisp or fuzzy, in isolation, multiples or clusters.

Orbs, properly, are seen on stills photographs (usually from digital cameras) or on nightshot camcorder footage since the mid 1990s. Various circular light anomalies have been seen with the naked eye, but these have little to do with ‘orbs’

Orbs range in size within a photograph/screen but they tend to appear smaller than 1/10th diameter of the photo frame.

The History of Orbs

Orbs on stills cameras and camcorders were not identified and called ‘orbs’ until the mid-1990s.

What we today know as orbs did exist before this time but were so rare that they did not excite interest in the paranormal research community.

Photographic evidence of orbs has been traced back to the early twentieth century but none were published or linked with the paranormal until 1980 in Rickard and Kelly’s Photographs of the Unknown. This book defined the phenomena as unusual but natural. No other examples of pre-mid 1990s orbs being linked with the paranormal have come to prominence as yet.

The effective ‘discovery’ of orbs took place when, entirely suddenly, paranormal researchers were startled by orbs appearing on dozens of photographs of ‘haunted houses’.
This coincided with the mass production and distribution of digital stills cameras.

Orbs became increasingly noted by paranormal researchers in the years that followed.

In 2002 there was an explosion of paranormal investigation groups following the airing of the first season of UK cable TV show Most Haunted.
Most Haunted made the assertion that orbs are the manifestation of spirits, convincing thousands of fans, many of whom went on to become paranormal investigators themselves.

In the years that followed 2002 orbs became derided as investigators saw them too often and the rational theories of orbs gained popularity. These rational theories were unscientifically tested by scores of researchers but no scientific evidence has been established until now.

At the time of writing most paranormal groups appear to be sceptical of orbs: some rule them out wholesale and many rule them out unless they fulfilled certain ‘characteristics’ whilst a few researchers dogmatically cling to the idea that orbs are paranormal.
Many of those who do rule out orbs have a very poor understanding of the theory involved and, thus, make many errors during analysis.

Despite the OfCom ruling that Most Haunted is a program for entertainment and “should not be taken seriously” they have not retracted their assertions about orbs. As such many armchair enthusiasts are still convinced that orbs are paranormal.

My personal experience about orbs. My digital camera captures a lot of orbs. I notice Orbs love joyful occasions and especially there is a lot of laughs at the party. Whenever I play the Tao of Youth Music : Audio 1 ; I will see a lot of Orbs in my photos. Lately I am learning advance Feng Shui course and I have put in place all the Feng Shui practices I learn and I noticed my house attracts more orbs.

A recipe for cucumber:

Pickled cucumber

6-8 small cucmbers ( pickle cucumber)
1/3 cup Japanese rice wine vinegar ( add more if you like)
1/4 t. salt
1/2 block of cane sugar ( from Chinese grocery store)
1/2 t. roasted seasame seed oil
2 dried red chilie peppers
Slice cucumbers into quarters. Sprinkle salt over the slices of cucmbers and leave in bowl for an hour. Wash the cucumbers and then add vinegor and sugar ( melt sugar before you put in). Add seasame oil and crush 2 dried chilie peppers.
Put in a glass jar and eat them the next day. You can add more vinegar or sugar to your taste.

================================================================================================

The cucumber, like WD40 and duct tape is the answer to everything. I didn’t know it though. It makes me hungry for summer gardens.

1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one
cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.

2. Feeling tired in the afternoon, put down the caffeinated soda and pick up a cucumber. Cucumbers are a good source of B Vitamins and Carbohydrates that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last for hours.

3. Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower? Try rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.

4. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area.

5. Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or to the pool? Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemicals in the cucumber cause the collagen in your
skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite. Works great on wrinkles too!!!

6.. Want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache? Eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed and headache free. Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and headache!!

7. Looking to fight off that afternoon or evening snacking binge? Cucumbers have been used for centuries and often used by European trappers, traders and explores for quick meals to thwart off starvation.

8. Have an important meeting or job interview and you realize that you don’t have enough time to polish your shoes? Rub a freshly cut cucumber over the shoe, its chemicals will provide a quick and durable shine that not only looks great but also repels water.

9. Out of WD 40 and need to fix a squeaky hinge? Take a cucumber slice and rub it along the problematic hinge, and voila, the squeak is gone!

10. Stressed out and don’t have time for massage, facial or visit to the spa? Cut up an entire cucumber and place it in a boiling pot of water, the chemicals and nutrients from the cucumber will react with the boiling water and be released in the steam, creating a soothing, relaxing aroma that has been shown to reduce stress in new mothers and college students during final exams.

11. Just finish a business lunch and realize you don’t have gum or mints? Take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth with your tongue for 30 seconds to eliminate bad breath, the phytochemcials will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for causing bad breath.

12. Looking for a ‘green’ way to clean your faucets, sinks or stainless steel? Take a slice of cucumber and rub it on the surface you want to clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the shine, but it won’t leave streaks and won’t harm you fingers or fingernails while you clean.

13. Using a pen and made a mistake? Take the outside of the cucumber and slowly use it to erase the pen writing, also works great on crayons and markers that the kids have used to decorate the walls!!

And you thought it was just for salad or making pickles.

Environmental Factors Trump Genetics in Aging

Everyone of us has looked in the mirror and thought, “Now, that’s a line I haven’t seen before.”

For years, we have been blaming our aging on genetics and heredity. But, did those age spots and crows feet really come from your Mother’s genes?

Believe it or not, facial aging is actually a direct result of your lifestyle.

Recently, I came across a study by The American Society of Plastic
surgeons, which revealed that factors like divorce and the use of
anti-depressants are the real culprit that can wreck havoc on one’s
face.

A person’s heritage may initially dictate how they age, but if you
introduce harmful, external factors you will eventually see them show up as lines and wrinkles.

A closer look:

In 2006 at the Twins Day Festival, in a town just outside of
Cleveland, Ohio, close to 3,000 pairs of twins attend to participate
in various studies, including facial aging.

A research team from the Department of Plastic Surgery from Case Western University set out to interview almost 200 pairs of male and female identical twins.

After consistently surveying the sets of siblings, studying, and photographing, members of the department came to some very interesting conclusions about facial aging when considering factors in an individual’s lifestyle.

1. Age and the Body Mass Factor;

(BMI), Body mass index does play a significant role in signs of aging, but not in the way many would expect.

As it turns out, in cases of twins ages 55 years and older,
the sibling carrying more weight appeared much younger. Look at these twins.

The skin of the slightly heavier twin was more plump and tight as
opposed to the thinner sibling, who appeared gaunt. Participants with a higher body mass also appeared to have better hair quantity than that of their seemingly thinner counterpart.

Good News!

So don’t be afraid to put on a few pounds after you turn 55.

2. External Influences;

Harmful habits such as cigarette smoking, sun exposure and alcohol usage have been directly linked to faster signs of aging.
In the twin study, very often the sibling who habitually smoked
cigarettes developed more wrinkles around the lips, as well as skin discoloration.

Individuals exposed to years of sunlight also suffer from skin discoloration as well as weakened skin, collagen
degeneration, and decreased elasticity, causing skin to sag and
wrinkle more dramatically with age.

Also, participants who regularly consume alcohol have proven to age faster than those who do not.

Chronic alcohol consumers suffer from problems with cortisol
secretion, affecting the way our bodies respond to stress and anxiety.

These two twins differ in the amount of sun exposure they have had. The twin on the left was judged to look 5 years older than her sister on the right.

3. HRT, Antidepressants, and Stress Factors

The role of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) contributes by seemingly slowing down the appearance of aging.

Estrogen plays a significant role in maintaining the elasticity in the skin and preserving a youthful visage. Individuals on HRT also seem to have less problems with hair loss if any at all.

Participants diagnosed with depression and anxiety problems have found to have more significant signs of facial aging, even when placed on medication such as antidepressants.

Marital status has also proven to be a vital component to apparent aging. Subjects of divorce as well as widows and widowers have shown more obvious signs of aging due to high amounts of stress and anxiety.

More and more we are finding that we have the ability to take control of our lives.

You can give your genetic makeup a “makeover” by eating right and reducing harmful external factors.

What is the science behind the Tao of Youth music?

During our waking hours, our brains are most often in a
beta wave frequency pattern. The beta brain state is one of high
alert and quick response, necessary in crisis situations. However,
when the beta pattern is maintained for an overly high level for
long periods, it can lead to feelings of chronic anxiety, disharmony,
and unease. When we relax, the brain is in an alpha wave pattern.
The alpha pattern is characterized by a calm, yet focused,
state of mind.

Tao of Youth –Artovan music for optimum health

Listening to the Artovan CD produces a feeling of balance
and peace. When you listen, you are bringing yourself fully
into the present moment, thus creating a calm, focused
state of mind. Benets described by listeners include:

• Increased ability to focus and concentrate
• Decreased stress and anxiety levels
• Improved memory
• Enhanced cognitive learning ability
• Intensified feelings of blissfulness

Enjoy this wonderful listening experience in good health!

What is RA math frequency ?

RA Math Frequency is a specic mathematical frequency
discovered by Wes Bateman, and recorded on a customized
electronic digital key board by Gary Hovda. Bateman’s 25 years
of research into the relationship between mathematics and
sound waves found in nature and in the human brain led to
his discovery that the universe uses a natural mathematic
to “describe itself.” Further, key mathematical constants
correspond to the natural wave frequencies found in the human brain.
Music based on the RA math frequency can be listened to
repeatedly, and each time the listener always seems to hear
something new. Whereas standard music eventually becomes
tiring to listen to, no matter how beautiful it is.

Why this music?

The music on your Tao of Youth Artovan CD has powerful
healing qualities. Its sound is based on alpha wave
frequencies, those sounds in nature are in the brain when
it is in a natural resting state.

The Story Behind the Music

Gary Hovda, creator of Artovan, recorded this music on a special keyboard whose design was inuenced by the frequencies
Wes Bateman discovered. Although Gary has no formal musical training and had never played a musical instrument before,
he became deeply inspired after having played the RA System keyboard for only a short time. There was no practice, preparation,
or thought prior to the recording of each selection-each was created purely through feeling and intent. The music you hear on
this CD had not been edited, digitally remixed, or altered in any way from its original recording. It is probably the first
“concept album” ever recorded by someone who had never previously played music!

The OLD Assumption about Bone Health

Most bone health experts say our bones should have strength and density. We agree except we believe we also need our bones to be more elastic in order to avoid fracture.

Our NEW Assumption about Bone Health

We need to have strength, density and elasticity of the bone. Dr. Samuel Yue has observed how osteoporosis commonly presents degeneration in the joints of his fibromyalgia patients. While there are many risk factors for osteoporosis, one factor commonly mentioned but rarely addressed is the quality of collagen in the bone matrix (the generator of bone). The integrity of the bone depends on two things: the quality of the collagen and the amount of the calcium. The Tao of Youth (pages 98-102) discusses how the integrity of the bone depends on both the quality of the collagen and the amount of the calcium.

Friday, January 11, 2008 – Byron J. Richards, CCN

Women across the country are being duped to consume billions of dollars worth of bone poisons under the false pretense that if they take them long enough they will not develop osteoporosis. Even the FDA is becoming alarmed by the side effects of these bone drugs – a rather stunning event considering the FDA hardly ever acts to cast suspicion on the propaganda put out by a Big Pharma blockbuster class of drugs being slickly marketed for prevention.
The drugs in question are known as bisphosphonates. The biggest selling drug in this class is called Fosamax, made by Merck – the very same company that killed thousands of Americans with Vioxx while hiding cardiovascular risks from the FDA and patients. Does anyone trust them? Other commonly recognized names are Actonel (Proctor and Gamble) and Boniva (Roche and GlaxoSmithKline). Collectively these drugs had $4.3 billion in U.S. sales during 2006 (27 million prescriptions).
A recent flood of negative information about these drugs is finally coming to light, including an alarming FDA pain warning, the risk for atrial fibrillation, the numerous cases of rotting jaw bones, and a new major study that concludes after 15 years of widespread use there is not enough science to show if the medications are safe or effective. Sure bone health is extremely important; however, taking bisphosphonate bone drugs does not produce stronger or healthier bones – quite to the contrary.
The FDA Warning – Severe Pain from Bone Drugs
On Monday, January 7, 2008, the FDA issued a warning on bisphosphonate drugs saying that there is a possibility of “severe and sometimes incapacitating bone, joint, and/or muscle (musculoskeletal) pain in patients taking bisphosphonates.” The FDA explained that the pain “may occur within days, months, or years after starting bisphosphonates. Some patients have reported complete relief of symptoms after discontinuing the bisphosphonate, whereas others have reported slow or incomplete resolution.”
Translated to English this means that any woman experiencing any bone, joint, or muscle pain of any kind since starting a bisphosphonate bone drug, even if the pain started several years after first taking the drug, should work with her prescribing physician to immediately discontinue use of the drug to see if the pain stops or gets better. Of course, taking statins to lower cholesterol can also cause severe muscle pain and many women are on both drugs – a double whammy.
Think about it for a minute – how could a drug that is supposed to be good for bones cause incapacitating bone pain in anyone?
Since the FDA has trouble understanding how the drugs it has approved behave in the human body, they had no explanation as to why bone drugs were causing such horrendous pain. Thus, I will be happy to explain the nature of the problem.
Bisphosphonates are Highly Inflammatory Drugs
Bisphosphonates are a caustic chemical. They damage any human tissue they come in contact with. They have been proven to induce inflammation by direct contact with body surfaces and they have been proven to set in motion a chain reaction of inflammatory events. Indeed, one way they work is by poisoning to death a type of bone cell known as an osteoclast. The medical profession thinks it is a good idea to poison osteoclasts because there are too many of them in people with accelerated bone loss. Never do they bother asking why there are too many and treat the source of the problem. Even though osteoclasts are a normal bone cell required for healthy bone metabolism, the pushers of these poisons have come up with an excuse to perform a type of chemotherapy on bone cells, often in the name of preventive health!
It has been proven beyond any doubt that these drugs cause swollen bone due to their highly inflammatory nature. In fact, the unreliable and inaccurate X-Ray-generated pictures doctors claim are better bone density after a person has been taking these drugs for a while are actually pictures of swollen and inflamed bone that is being chaotically disorganized and weakened by these drugs. A sprained ankle looks bigger than a normal ankle, so does a sprained bone.
It is worth noting that in addition to the fact the pictures are of swollen bones, the pictures themselves are never an accurate measure of true bone density in any person. These bone pictures are referred to as Dual energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA). The flaws include a huge variance in human operator skill and the inability of the machine to judge bone depth, thus all pictures are guesses anyway. The best-guess reference charts are easily skewed by tall people, short people, thick-boned people – and the lack of skill of the machine operator. The pictures cannot show bone strength or bone integrity (a convenient shortcoming for bisphosphonate drugs). Because bisphosphonates also glue calcium in an abnormal manner onto bone, the mirage is that there appears to be more density – true smoke and mirrors. Numerous studies with bone biopsy show that bisphosphonate-treated bone is actually swollen, chaotically disorganized, and weaker than healthy bone.
If you would like to understand the details of this issue, as well as basic bone metabolism, you may read for free Chapter 18: The Illusion of Bone Drugs, from my book Fight for Your Health – Exposing the FDA’s Betrayal of America. Also, included in the appendix are numerous references documenting all of the many side effects of these drugs up through 2006.
The FDA is now warning that at some point while taking these drugs there can be intense and even debilitating pain. This is obviously due to the caustic and highly inflammatory nature of these drugs.
Here is a question for the medical profession. Since it is now clearly understood that excessive inflammation is part of the primary cause of every single disease of aging – what makes you think you are helping the overall health of anyone by giving them a highly inflammatory bisphosphonate drug for a number of years?
Of course, doctors may warn their patients to walk around after taking these drugs and not lay down. This is because bisphosphonates are so caustic and inflammatory to the digestive system that they may cause significant damage to the lining of the intestinal tract. In fact, the drug is only 1% absorbed which leaves 99% of the poison to batter the digestive lining. The drug even comes with warnings not to give it to people with digestive problems – a warning that is routinely ignored by many prescribing physicians.
The FDA issued its pain warning because doctors are also ignoring that bisphosphonates are a likely cause of a terrible inflammatory pain which may even start long after first taking the drug. Doctors have been treating this pain with pain killers, the typical style of the drug-dispensing paradigm governing “modern” medicine – give one drug to offset the side effects of another (IQ=70).
If we had to stretch the imagination of these brilliant men of medicine then possibly they might conceive of the notion that once this caustic drug is absorbed and before it arrives at the bones to work its inflammatory damage in the name of “health,” it must go through the circulation and past the heart. Would you like to guess what the drug is doing while it is in the cardiovascular system? Are doctors somehow not aware that filling the arteries with plaque, which leads to heart attacks and stroinflammatory disease?kes, is clearly an
Bisphosphonates Increase the Risk for Atrial Fibrillation
Since October 1, 2007 the FDA has also announced that it is reviewing the link between bisphosphonate drugs and atrial fibrillation (a potentially life-threatening heart problem). The FDA updated its posting about this issue on January 7, 2008 when it released its pain warning. In essence, the FDA says it is confused about the issue and trying to study the matter.
This is simply another instance of FDA incompetence and failure to do its job. Back in 1997 it was clear to the FDA that a Merck study showed a 50% increased risk in serious atrial fibrillation from Fosamax. The FDA did not demand that Merck conduct a specific post-marketing safety analysis relating to atrial fibrillation. This was a major failure on the part of the FDA to protect the public. Thus, the only data the FDA can review are studies regarding bisphosphonates that may report atrial fibrillation but are not designed to test for it. The FDA also has its MedWatch program, but most physicians and patients don’t link the two issues so don’t know to report it.
The FDA is only now becoming interested in the issue as a new type of powerful bisphosphonate that involves a once a year intravenous infusion are showing a 150% increased risk for atrial fibrillation. This is obviously a higher potency of the drug in the circulation, giving its highly inflammatory and caustic characteristics more of a chance to weaken the heart in one major “blast attack.” If this therapy catches on with women atrial fibrillation problems will triple.
The FDA says it plans to drag its feet on the issue for another 10 months, at which point it is likely to say it does not have enough data to know for sure one way or the other – great job FDA. It appears that any woman taking bisphosphonates who has a concern about heart health should think twice – considering the FDA has no clue what the real risks are. While the risk of a problem may be only 0.5% to 1% of those taking the drug, that can easily translate to 15,000 – 30,000 cases of serious atrial fibrillation per year based on the large numbers of women on these medications.
Of course, if a patient should develop atrial fibrillation due to a bisphosphonate drug then their doctors will put them on the rat poison called Coumadin (Warfarrin). This drug has been shown to increase the risk of fractures by 25% after one year of use.
Atrial fibrillation is not the only potential cardiovascular risk. Science shows that bisphosphonates activate adhesion molecules which are known to initiate plaque formation in arteries. A mouse study shows that bisphosphonates trigger the rupturing of atherosclerotic plaque – which causes strokes and heart attacks in humans. The FDA is not demanding the makers of these drugs prove they are safe for cardiovascular health and that they do not contribute to plaque formation in the arteries. Once again, the FDA has left the public groping in the dark. We already know that Merck does not disclose heart risks of its drugs to the FDA or the public, as clearly proven by the Vioxx case.
Here is another simple question. How can a drug that rots out someone’s jaw bone possibly be good for the bones of Rotting Jaw Bone
any person?
Rotting jaw bone, otherwise known as osteonecrosis of the jaw, became a hot topic back in the summer of 2005 when it was first widely reported that patients on intravenous bisphosphonates ran the risk of developing this debilitating jaw condition, especially if they needed some dental work done.
As the drama unfolded patients taking oral Fosamax began reporting their deteriorating jaw bone problems, now known as Fossie jaw. Merck currently faces a number of lawsuits on the issue.
Individuals who need any kind of significant dental work should think twice before taking a bisphosphonate drug, as their jaw may have trouble healing and teeth may have trouble staying firmly in place. While having one’s jaw rot completely out is a horrendous problem, it is far more likely that many people are experiencing jaw-related stress and wear from these drugs. Any person developing TMJ, jaw pain, or any kind of dental problem after being on a bisphosphonate should be very concerned.
Japanese researchers warned of this problem back in 2000 and the need to be cautious for jaw health in patients taking Fosamax, but the FDA was not paying any attention. In fact, the FDA let millions of American women take this drug to prevent osteoporosis when the drug never even went through a normal approval process for its common uses in today’s world (it was only approved for serious bone disease). This is rather shocking to say the least – but true.
How Bisphosphonate Bone Drugs Work
The bisphosphonate bone drugs work in two main ways:
A) By killing osteoclasts – the carpenter cells in charge of the demolition part of the remodeling process. New healthy bone cannot be built by osteoblasts until old worn bone has been removed by osteoclasts.
B) By gluing calcium onto bone in abnormal ways, providing the appearance of greater bone density. However, this is like nailing a piece of plywood over a hole in the wall. Yes, there is something there, but it is not a normal wall and it does not have the proper strength of a normal wall.
Once bisphosphonates arrive at bone they are stuck there forever, as a completely abnormal substance residing within and on the bone. The human body has no enzyme system that can break them down. Thankfully, after one year the biological activity of the poison is reduced; however, it is still stuck in the bone indefinitely. It is not a trivial issue to give a patient a toxic drug that accumulates in bones and is highly active even after it is stopped, which explains why some of the patients did not get rid of their pain even after discontinuing the drug.
Such a therapy may have some advantages in a situation of very poor health wherein a person is rapidly losing bone. The idea is that it is better to have some bone, regardless of its true condition, compared to no bone. Indeed, these drugs were first approved for diseases of rapid bone loss, such as Paget’s disease. In such high risk cases it can be demonstrated that the risk of fracture can be reduced. In other words, bones glued together with Fosamax may be better than really weak bones in horrid health.
However, healthy bone has a fairly high activity of osteoclasts (the demo crew) and osteoblasts (bone building carpenter cells), operating in balance. By killing osteoclasts all that happens is old bone is left in place and new bone can’t properly form due to all the clutter in the way – resulting in highly disorganized and abnormal bone matrix. This is a far cry from healthy bones. If a healthy woman does this for 5-10 years in an effort to ward off osteoporosis it is pretty clear that she has been conned – and actually worsened her bone health.
A Comprehensive Review of Bone Drug Effectiveness
A major study was recently conducted in an effort to compare these bone drugs to other drug options to see which drugs or therapies actually produced the best patient outcomes in the real world. The goal of such research is to help prescribing physicians know what options are best based on scientific review. The researchers found that bisphosphonates were no better than anything else – a disturbing finding in and of itself.
The research was reported in a January 2008 issue of the Annals of Internal Medicine (full article here). The conclusion of the study states “Although good evidence suggests that many agents are effective in preventing osteoporotic fractures, data are insufficient to determine the relative efficacy or safety of these agents.” This conclusion, worded to be as politically correct as could be contrived in a drug-related journal, is a shocking indictment of the ineptitude of the FDA. How could a drug be in use for 15 years, with billions of dollars of sales per year, and the FDA has never demanded proof that the drug was safe or effective???
The bisphosphonates, as I explain above, work best in people with serious bone health issues wherein bones glued together with bisphosphonates are better than extremely fragile bones. Here we can see a slight reduction in fracture in a difficult patient population, which is a valid use of medicine. Keep in mind that there are not enough people in this high risk group for Big Pharma to make a profit. Big Pharma has to convince low risk people (millions of baby boomers) to take these drugs for 10 years as a prevention tool – a marketing campaign that has been in full swing for a number of years (a low risk population).
When you look deep within this study about the use of Fosamax in this low risk population the study authors state Fosamax in this group “may in fact have had no effect on or even have increased the risk for fracture.” Not exactly a glowing report for a drug that is being crammed down the throats of generally healthy women in the billions of dollars per year. And far different than the fudged conclusion the media is likely to read.
An unbiased conclusion of this study would be “Various drug therapies, including bisphosphonates, may be able to reduce the risk of osteoporotic fractures in some patients in the high risk category – though safety and efficacy is not clear. In the low risk category there is no evidence of long-term benefit, and safety and efficacy is also not clear – there may even be a risk for fracture increase.”
Bone Health is Important
Bone health is very important. There are many dramatic discoveries relating to bones and how to help them, all centered on safe and natural options to improve health. The new science shows that the reason there are too many osteoclasts causing bone loss is because of an underlying inflammatory problem in the bones – part of an overall inflammatory wear and tear trend. When this trend occurs at a normal pace it is considered routine aging. When this inflammatory trend is accelerated then the weakest link in the chain manifests as a disease (heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, osteoporosis, etc).
It is shear idiocy to treat an inflammatory bone problem with an inflammatory bone drug, especially for prevention. Numerous nutrients are now proven to directly lower inflammation in bone, thus naturally promoting the healthy balance and function of osteoclasts and osteoblasts. There are no shortcuts or quick fixes for bone health. Stress is highly inflammatory and a major problem. The foundation of a proper plan is a good diet, maintaining proper body weight, consistent exercise that produces fitness, having some fun in life, and dietary supplements that work directly with the gene signals within bones to foster health and build strong bone – naturally. It is time that we as a culture put to rest the barbaric use of toxins that do nothing but bolster the profits of Big Pharma at the expense of human health.

There are actually two wealth magnets here that work in concert as one. One half will seem obvious and logical, but the other will seem completly illogical, and will be difficult to accept. You need to do this for 90 days. You will see results. You will be amazed. Then you will stick with it even though you may never be able to logically explain it to anyone else.

The 90 days experiment:

1, Logical one is saving : Systematically, discipline saving. Establish a bank account and call it your wealth account. Determine a fixed percentage of everydollar tha comes your way. Do Not touch it , no matter what. makes these deposit everytime a dollar arrives. Daily if need be. The amount count less than the act. If you do take money out, you must limit to investment. If, for example you are paying a home mortgage and have the wealth account to pay for an extra principal payment, that’s is acceptable.
The act of putting money into your wealth account does thing to and through your subsconscious mind that cannot be fully explained.

2, Completely illogical one is giving : Giving has an incredible effect on your psyche. Open another separately bank account and call it your giving Account. Predetermine a fixed percentage of everydollar that you receive to give to your charitties, churches, people in need, even over-tip hard working people. If you take money out during the 90-day Experiment , it must be to give away with no expectation of return or gain, and it should not replace giving you already do.
This math works more like this : e.g. 100% minus 10% = 90%. $10,000.00 minus $1,000 = $9,000. Somehow, this math works more like this: 100%-10%=100%x 4=400%.

The Power of Habitforce: same as you do your excercise everyday and also good eating habit and good food supplement regiment everyday. It is the same discipline.

“ It is insight into truth, into reality, that frees our minds. However, insight can only occur when we listen, not only to the words of others, but to the meaning behind them. When we listen with complete attention, without preconceived opinions, we perceive the reality beneath words and images. We perceive the truth as the true, the false as the false, and the relationship between the true and the false.”

Dealing with my 17 years old from Shanghai is totally different than with my mother. I have inherited Alan from his last host family ( he has been here for two years staying with a different family in a different school district), he is happy with us because we cook the kind of food he loves. Changing into another school district has really distressed him because he has to adjust the new Edina high school .

When I first met him last fall and he was entering into 11 grade, he seemed to look forward to his new school and also getting ready to prepare for college. I found out he was having a hard time fitting into the new school and he felt isolated. From his body language and the way he walked I could tell every morning he dreaded to go to school.

He would say this, “ I talked to my father and he said he had not gone to college and it is OK not to go to college!” I would say “ If this what you want and your father does not pressure you to go to college, that is good because most kids’ parent put a lot of pressure for their kids to go to college!”

I receive a call from my cousin who is very closed to Alan’s father and ask what is going on with Alan. He calls his father and says he wants to repeat 11 grade and wants to go to a private high school instead. Since his father lives in Shanghai and does not understand what his son wants and also does not understand the US system, so he wants to know more so he can help his son.

We have a meeting with my best friend who is a retired high school counselor. She sits down with us and find out what is best for him. It turns out that his is so afraid of not getting into college and is taking a course of action that definitely sabotages his chance. Finally the words come out from him are if he cannot get into college then why should he study hard, so he might as well give up now! He is living into future and makes decisions that project the false future.

My girlfriend and I develope a strategic plan for him to go to college. We are going to interview several college admission officers and explain that Alan should be consider as a foreign student even though he has gone to high school here for 3 years and going into his 4th years and since English is still not his first language he should be considered as foreign student. Alan also has to do his part and study for ACT and TOFU and get a decent grade in his 12 grade.

Bottom line is he wants to go to college but thinks that he cannot and decides to give up trying. We need for him to live in the present and follow the path one step at a time.! Learning to deal with now for him is very important.

Will post what kind of food I cook for them ( my mother and Alan)

(4924 Poppy Lane Household)

This period of my life is very special. Almost three years ago my very active mother who was 92 years old then fell very hard and hit her head, after that fall she had changed from a very independent to a very dependent person. It is very sad to see someone lost her freedom in one night when she lost her balance. I live with her and have to change my personal plan. I closed my office and moved it into my basement and with the help of a housekeeper we have been taking care of her since.

She has improved significantly but is never the same since the fall.. The impact of the fall has triggered her Dementia and since has progress into an early stage of Alzheimer disease.

Since I do have no experience living with an Alzheimer person and am not too sure about how to tackle this new situation. So my life with her has been a challenge and also has been an adventure. At a moment of weakness I have also taken in a 17 years old boy from Shanghai who is attending high school in Edina school district where I live. Needless to say my life is very interesting.

At the same time I am running an online home business in the basement of my house.. Why the title “Living in the present”. Every time you read a magazine that mention about spirituality and you will read about living in the moment or living now. Oprah advocates in her self help “O” magazine . I read all these with great interest and you ask me do I understand it . I think intellectually I understand and emotionally I do not think I truly understand it. So it takes taking care of a house hold with a 95 and 17 years to really comprehend it fully.

I like to share with you what John McAfee said about being in the present. “ How can we be aware in the present moment when we are rehashing a past experience or planning some future event, or chewing over some insult or flattery? And what is our level of awareness when we are judging the present moment: comparing , evaluating , scheming, demanding, or rejecting? We are aware only of an image- a construct used for comparison. The image is not reality. The present is the only reality.”

When you live with a 95 years old who has Alzheimer disease you take her reaction every moment and do not judge, evaluate, compare, scheme, demand or reject because you just live in that moment and you just either laugh or accept and move on the next moment and live in her reality. This is a good example: My mother came down to my basement office and said she has something very important to tell me. “ “May, this is very important and you need to take care of it.” “ What is it Mom!” “Do you know that when I take off my pants someone came into my bathroom and take a photo of me! “ “Yah, should I call the police!” “ No it is CIA so you better not” Within another half and hour we would have a perfectly good conversation about what we should cook for dinner.

Dealing with her you have to deal with her reality and you have to not get caught up with what you normally react. The only thing you can do is live with her at that moment! I can honestly say I have gain a lot of insight living with my 95 years old mother.

I will post more on my life with the 17 years old boy next time.
